talk therapy
Talk therapy is a scientifically recognized method. At the beginning of a treatment, the therapist asks about the current situation of the client and inquires about relevant biographical details. The client determines which goals he wants to achieve in therapy.
The heart of talk therapy is the conversation between client and therapist. The client describes his problems, his attitude and way of thinking. The therapist tries to understand the patient's feelings and thoughts as precisely as possible.
The client-centered interviewing technique according to Carl R. Rogers involves the therapist repeatedly summarizing the client's statements in their own words. Through the therapist's reflection, the client gains a better understanding of his inner world.
The therapist will not give advice or direction in talk therapy. So he does not prescribe the client's behavior, but accompanies the client to find their individual solution within themselves.
